HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH

      (Headlight Leveling Switch)
      *b Auxiliary Battery

      Check the ratio.


      1. Remove the head light leveling switch.

      2. Connect the positive (+) auxiliary battery lead to terminal 1 and the negative (-) auxiliary battery lead to terminal 4.

      3. Check the ratio which is obtained by dividing the voltage between terminals 2 and 4 by the voltage between 1 and 4. The voltages must be measured using a voltmeter.

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

        1 (B) - 4 (E)

        2 (T) - 4 (E)

        		 0 0.79 to 0.85
        1 0.67 to 0.73
        2 0.55 to 0.61
        3 0.44 to 0.50
        4 0.32 to 0.38
        5 0.20 to 0.26

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight leveling switch.

      Check the illumination operation.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the head light leveling switch connector.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (ILL+)

        Battery positive (-) → 4 (E)

        		 The illumination comes on

        If the illumination does not illuminate, replace the headlight leveling switch.
