  2. PRECAUTION FOR AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM

    1. Precautions for replacing windshield

      1. The timing for switching high and low beams varies depending on the light transmission of the windshield, so be sure to replace the windshield with genuine parts.

      2. When replacing the windshield glass assembly with the pre-crash safety city sensor installed, make sure to replace it with a genuine windshield glass assembly made for the pre-crash safety city sensor. Windshield glass assemblies other than genuine windshield glass assemblies made for the pre-crash safety city sensor do not have a camera installation bracket. Therefore, the pre-crash safety city sensor cannot be installed. If the camera is mounted on a windshield glass assembly that is not a genuine windshield glass assembly made for the pre-crash safety city sensor, the automatic high beam system may not operate properly because of the opacity of the window glass and the shape of black ceramic parts.

      3. Do not apply stickers (including transparent ones) to the outside of the windshield glass assembly in front of the pre-crash safety city sensor in the following ranges.

        • From the top of the windshield glass assembly to approximately 10 cm below the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor

        • From the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor to approximately 10 cm below the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor

      4. Do not install or apply anything to the inside of the windshield glass assembly below the pre-crash safety city sensor in the following ranges.

        • From the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor to approximately 10 cm below the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor

        • From the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor to approximately 10 cm below the bottom of the pre-crash safety city sensor

      5. Do not apply film to the windshield glass assembly.

    2. Precautions for handling pre-crash safety city sensor

      1. Failure to observe the following precautions can result in malfunction.

        • Do not touch the camera lens built into the pre-crash safety city sensor with bare hands.

        • Do not allow dirt to adhere to the camera lens built into the pre-crash safety city sensor.

        • Do not subject the pre-crash safety city sensor to any impact.

        • Do not allow moisture to adhere to the pre-crash safety city sensor.

    3. Precautions for replacing pre-crash safety city sensor

      1. When the pre-crash safety sensor is replaced with a new one or it is removed, camera beam axis learning must be performed. If camera beam axis learning is not performed and the lane departure alert system is operated, a DTC is output.

    4. When replacing the pre-crash safety sensor, replace it with a new one. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the pre-crash safety sensor will not match the information from the vehicle and, as a result, a DTC may be output.

    5. When replacing the pre-crash safety city sensor, do not dirty or damage the lens.
