DESCRIPTION

The MG ECU located in the inverter with converter assembly monitors its internal operation and it will set DTCs when it detects malfunctions.

Tech Tips


  • If DTC P0A1A-151, P0A1A-155, P0A1A-658, P0A1A-659, P0A1A-791 DTC P0A1B-163, P0A1B-164, P0A1B-192, P0A1B-511, P0A1B-512, P0A1B-661, P0A1B-786 or P0A1B-794 is output, clear the DTCs, perform the following procedure, and check that the same DTC is not output after the repair.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

  • If DTC P0A1A-156or P0A1B-193 is output, clear the DTCs, perform the following procedure, and check that the same DTC is not output after the repair.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG) and wait for 1 minute or more.

  • If DTC P0A1A-166 is output, clear the DTCs, perform the following procedure, and check that the same DTC is not output after the repair.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).

    2. With the vehicle stopped and the shift lever in P, depress the accelerator pedal and start the engine.

    3. Depress the accelerator pedal and keep the engine running for 30 seconds or more.

  • If DTC P0A1B-198 is output, clear the DTCs, perform the following procedure, and check that the same DTC is not output after the repair.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).

    2. Drive the vehicle at 3 mph (5 km/h) or more for 30 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      None of the following DTCs are output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are output. B

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC P0A1A-151, P0A1A-659 or P324E-788 is output. A
      Other than above. B

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

  3. CLEAR DTC


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.

    5. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

    6. Turn the ignition switch off.

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    6. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output (not including history DTCs). A
      Only DTC P0A1A-151, P0A1A-659 or P324E-788 is output. B
      Other than above. C

    7. Turn the ignition switch off.
