Tech Tips

After confirming that DTC P0A38-257 or P0A39-259 is output, use the GTS to check "Motor Temp No2" in the power management control ECU Data List.

Tech Tips

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CONNECTOR)

      Check the connection condition of the generator temperature sensor connector and the contact pressure of each terminal. Check the terminals for deformation, and check the connector for water ingress and foreign matter.

      OK
      - The connector is connected securely.
      - The terminals are not deformed and are connected securely.
      - No water or foreign matter in the connector.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (MOTOR TEMP NO2)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Motor Temp No2.

    4. Read the Data List.

      Disconnect the C24 generator temperature sensor connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Connect the C24 generator temperature sensor connector.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    5. Read the Data List.
