CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL O-RING

      *a O-ring Groove
      *b Crankshaft Position Sensor Tip

      Clean the O-ring groove of the crankshaft position sensor.

      Note

      Make sure the O-ring groove is free of foreign matter.

    2. Apply protective tape around the part (A) shown in the illustration.

    3. Install a new O-ring to the crankshaft position sensor.

      Note

      Set the O-ring on the tip of the crankshaft position sensor and roll it into the O-ring groove with bare hands to install it.

      *1 O-ring
      *a OK
      *b NG
      *c Seam

      Check if the O-ring is twisted.

      Tech Tips

      Check the entire circumference of the seam of the O-ring for twisting.

    5. Remove the protective tape.

      Note

      Make sure to remove the protective tape and any tape adhesive residue.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

      *1 O-ring

      Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring on the crankshaft position sensor.

    2. Install the crankshaft position sensor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

    3. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.

  3. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
