SFI SYSTEM ECM Power Source Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the ignition switch is turned to ON (IG), auxiliary battery voltage is applied to the IGSW terminal of the ECM. The output signal from the MREL terminal of the ECM causes current to flow to the coil of the No. 1 integration relay (EFI MAIN relay), closing the contact and supplying power to terminals +B and +B2 of the ECM.

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the C10 ECM connector (for LHD).

    2. Disconnect the C9 ECM connector (for RHD).

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C10-16 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C9-16 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IGSW VOLTAGE)

      Disconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (EFI MAIN RELAY)

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - ECM)


    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the A28 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2C-4 - A28-2 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2C-4 - A28-3 (+B2) Always Below 1 Ω
      2C-2 - A28-46 (MREL) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the A28 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
