SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. When the driver side seat belt is not fastened, check that the driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly blinks.

    3. When the driver side seat belt is fastened, check that the driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly is off.

  2. INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. When the front passenger side seat belt is not fastened with the front passenger side seat occupied, check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the radio receiver assembly*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 blinks.

    3. When the front passenger side seat belt is fastened with the front passenger side seat occupied, check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the radio receiver assembly*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 is off.

  3. INSPECT REAR SEAT BELT WARNING


    1. A01NGUNE01

      Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. Open and then close either rear door, and check that the rear seat belt warning is shown on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.

    3. Fasten any rear seat belt, and check that the applicable mark goes off.

    4. Unfasten the seat belt that was fastened at the previous step, and check that the applicable mark comes on.

  4. INSPECT SEAT BELT WARNING BUZZER

    1. Lift up the vehicle using a swing arm type lift Click here.

    2. Start the hybrid control system.

    3. Place a weight of 20 kg (44.0 lb) on the front passenger seat.

      Note

      Place the weight on the seat cushion and do not allow it to come into contact with the seatback.

    4. Open and close a rear door and fasten a rear seat belt.

    5. When the vehicle is driven at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger side seat belt or the rear seat belt that was fastened at the previous step is unfastened, check that the buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds. After that, the buzzer sounds at an interval of 0.4 seconds for 90 seconds. After that, check that the buzzer stops.

    6. After the buzzer has stopped, turn the power switch off.

    7. Open and close a rear door and turn the hybrid control system start again. Then, fasten a rear seat belt.

    8. Drive the vehicle at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger side seat belt or the rear seat belt that was fastened at the previous step is unfastened, and then check that the buzzer sounds again.

    9. After the buzzer has stopped, fasten the driver side, front passenger side and rear seat belts. Drive the vehicle at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more and unfasten the driver side, front passenger side or rear seat belt, and then check that the buzzer sounds again.

    10. After the buzzer has stopped, move the shift lever to R, and then move it to D. Drive the vehicle at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more, and then check that the buzzer sounds again.
