FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Memory) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    • The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, variable length*, and lumbar support adjustment functions.

    • The passenger seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, variable length*, and lumbar support adjustment functions.

    • The memory call function uses the key ID code of the key to memorize and reproduce the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.

    *: w/ Variable Function

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Function
Power seat slide motor assembly Receives signal from the front power seat switch, and slides the seat forward and rearward.
Front vertical motor Receives signal from the front power seat switch, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion.
Lifter motor Receives signal from the front power seat switch, and raises and lowers the seat cushion.
Reclining motor Receives signal from the front power seat switch, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward.

    Seat variable cushion motor

    (w/ Variable Function)

Receives signal from the seat variable cushion switch, and adjusts the length of cushion accordingly.
Lumbar support adjuster assembly Receives signal from lumbar switch and motor operates so that lumbar support can be adjusted.
Seat slide control position sensor Built into each seat adjuster and sends position data to the front power seat switch so that it can detect seat positions at all time.
Front power seat switch Based on the switch operation, seat adjuster signals are input to the front power seat switch to adjust the seat accordingly.
    Seat memory switch

If the seat memory SET switch is being pressed when one of the M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch is pressed, or if one of the M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch is pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the seat memory SET switch, the outer mirror control ECU assembly sends the signals so that the seat position can be recorded.

Then, when seat memory switch is pressed, signal is input to outer mirror control ECU assembly and seat position changes according to memory.

  3. SYSTEM OPERATION

The front power seat functions which can be adjusted with the power seat motors and memorized are shown below.

Seat Adjustment Function Driver Seat Passenger Seat
Sliding Power and Memory Power and Memory
Reclining Power and Memory Power and Memory
Front Vertical Power and Memory Power and Memory
Lifter Power and Memory Power and Memory
Variable (w/ Variable Function) Power Power
    Lumbar Support Power Power

    • for driver side

The seat memory switch (driver side) sends memory switch information to the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver side). Then the information is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN. The information is received by the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and an instruction to memorize the seat position is sent to the front power seat switch (driver side) via CAN. As a result, the seat position is memorized.

    • for front passenger side

The seat memory switch (front passenger side) sends signals to the outer mirror control ECU assembly (front passenger side). The signals are then sent from the outer mirror control ECU assembly to the front power seat switch (front passenger side) via CAN. When the signals are received by the front power seat switch (front passenger side), the front power seat switch (front passenger side) memorizes the position of the seat.
