DESCRIPTION
The driving support ECU uses the millimeter wave radar sensor to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle.
Based on this information, the driving support ECU sends pre-crash control operation signals.
When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, it acquires the country specification information from the driving support ECU. Also, when the driving support ECU is replaced with a new one, it receives country specification information from the main body ECU. When country specification information in the sensor, ECU and/or main body ECU do not match, DTC C1A0A is stored.
| DTC No. | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
|---|---|---|
| C1A0A | When the power switch is on (IG), the country code of the driving support ECU and millimeter wave radar sensor do not match for approx. 1 second. |

Note
When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed Click here.
PROCEDURE
CHECK MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR
Using the intelligent tester, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
| Tester Display | Measurement Item/Range | Normal Condition | Diagnostic Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Country# (F Radar Sens) | Millimeter wave radar sensor country signal/JPN, NA, EURO, AUS, SAFC, OTHER, TWN, CHINA, THAI, GCC, NOFI | Actual country code | - |
Read the Data List and check the country specification information of the millimeter wave radar sensor and vehicle.
| Result | Proceed to |
|---|---|
| Country specification information for vehicle and millimeter wave radar sensor match | A |
| Country specification information for vehicle and millimeter wave radar sensor do not match (Japan←→Europe, Japan←→North America) | B |
| Country specification information for vehicle and millimeter wave radar sensor do not match (North America←→Europe) | C |
Tech Tips
The country specification information of the driving support ECU is decided by the main body ECU. Even if the vehicle and sensor country specification information match, if the country specification information for the vehicle and ECU/main body ECU do not match, it is necessary to replace the ECU and meter.
When the country specification information (North America←→Europe) for the vehicle body and sensor do not match, the sensor information can be overwritten by performing the sensor axis adjustment.
