DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly detects a fuel sender gauge malfunction via the direct line.

  1. Fuel sender gauge operation malfunction


  • Harness or connector

  • Combination meter assembly

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      Disconnect the F16 connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Disconnect the j2 connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F16-16 (FR) - j2-2 (S) Always Below 1 Ω
      E16-16 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F16-17 (FE) - j2-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly Click here.

    2. Check that the float moves smoothly between E and F.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Float level is F (upper) 13.5 to 16.5 Ω
      1 - 2 Float level is between F (upper) and E (lower) 13.5 to 414.5 Ω (Gradually changes)
      1 - 2 Float level is E (lower) 405.5 to 414.5 Ω

  5. CHECK FUEL SUCTION PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. Visually check for deformation on the fuel suction pump and gauge assembly connector.

      OK
      There is no deformation.
