METER / GAUGE SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER


    1. Check speedometer operation.


      1. Using a speedometer tester (calibrated chassis dynamometer), check the speedometer indication according to the table below.

        Reference: mph (for RHD except Australia and New Zealand)

        Note

        Tire wear as well as over or under inflation will cause errors.

      2. Check the deviation of the speedometer indication from the acceptable range.

  2. INSPECT HEADUP DISPLAY (COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU)

    Tech Tips

    When the headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) position or illuminance has not got adjusted properly, headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) may not be seen in the front glass. Before starting following inspection, confirm the headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) position and illuminance.


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG) while pressing and holding the headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) on switch.

    3. Keep pressing the headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) on switch and turn the power switch off.

    4. Keep pressing the headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) on switch and turn the power switch on (IG).

    5. The headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) will show "TEST MODE".

    6. Inspect the headup display (combination meter mirror ECU) as shown in the illustration.

    7. Turn the power switch off to finish test mode.
