  • Use the table below to help determine the cause of problem symptoms. If multiple suspected areas are listed, the potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.

  • Inspect the fuses and relays related to this system before inspecting the suspected areas below.

G-BOOK On-screen Message
Symptom Suspected Area See page
After "Wait for a while." is displayed, the condition that it takes a long time to display the screen occurs temporarily. This is caused when there is a problem with the radio wave signal conditions or when the base station is busy. This is not a malfunction (convince the customer that this is not a malfunction and ask them to use the system as is). -
"The lines are busy. Operate it after waiting for a while." is displayed. Telephone calls are being restricted by the communication provider. Explain to the customer that they need to wait for a while before using the service. -
"The lines are busy and it is not possible to display the desired content. Please try again (operate it again) after waiting for a while." is temporarily displayed. This is caused when there is a problem with the radio wave signal conditions or when the base station is busy. This is not a malfunction (convince the customer that this is not a malfunction and ask them to use the system as is). -
"The lines are busy and it is not possible to display the desired content. Please try again (operate it again) after waiting for a while." remains displayed. Proceed to "Communication Access Failed".

"The lines are busy and information was not able to be acquired." is displayed. Wait for a while and perform the operation again in a different location. -
Proceed to "Communication Access Failed".

"The lines are shut off and information was not able to be acquired." is displayed. Proceed to "Communication Access Failed".

"Information was not able to be acquired." is displayed. Proceed to "Communication Access Failed".

"Communication in preparation now. Wait for a while." is displayed. The system is trying to detect the telematics transceiver. Wait for a while and perform the operation again. -
Proceed to "Telematics Transceiver Malfunction".

"No response from the communication module. G-BOOK service is not available now." is displayed. Proceed to "Telematics Transceiver Malfunction".

"Outside the telephone call area. Move to the telephone call area and use it." is displayed. Wait for a while and perform the operation again in a different location (within the communication service area). -
Proceed to "Communication Access Failed".

"Because the time data is old, it is not possible to communicate. Receive GPS." is displayed. Proceed to Problem Symptoms Table (GPS mark is not displayed) of the Navigation System (for HDD) section.

If the GPS mark is displayed, wait for a while and perform the operation again in a different location. -
If the problem symptom is duplicated, replace the display and navigation module display.

"This service is not available because the microphone is not connected." is displayed. Proceed to "Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Navigation ECU" of the Navigation System (for HDD) section.

"Could not be registered to the bookmark." is displayed when registering a bookmark. Explain to the customer that this operation is not possible in a cold environment (-20°C (-4°F) or less) and they need to wait until the cabin temperature rises. -

"Communication needs to be initialized. Proceed to G-BOOK.com on the Main Menu screen to initialize." is displayed. Explain to the customer that a procedure is necessary to use the G-BOOK service. Ask the customer to perform the procedure by referring to the owner's manual. -
"G-BOOK contract is needed. Ask a dealership how to apply for the G-BOOK service." is displayed. Fill in the vehicle contract setting request form and contact the G-BOOK support center. -
Emergency Call Service On-screen Message

Emergency Call Service Indicator Display Problem

The indicator lights on the telephone switch assembly panel do not come on when the power switch is turned on (ACC). Check that G-BOOK contract and procedure to start the emergency call service have been completed successfully. -

The red indicator light on the telephone switch assembly panel comes on after the power switch is turned on (ACC). The vehicle is outside the communication service area. Move the vehicle to a communication service area. -
The red indicator light on the telephone switch assembly panel blinks after the power switch is turned on (ACC). Check for DTCs.

Turning the power switch on (ACC) will cause a manual maintenance check to start. Proceed to DTC B15C5.

Emergency Call Service Function
