QUARTER WINDOW GLASS INSTALLATION


  1. CLEAN QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NFUQ

      Clean the outer edges of the quarter window assembly with a non-residue solvent.

      Note


      • Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.

      • Be careful not to damage the glass or clips.

  2. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean the quarter window assembly (When reusing the quarter window assembly).


      1. Remove the double-sided tape from the quarter window assembly.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

        Apply new double-sided tape to the quarter window assembly.

        A 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.)
        B 10.0 mm (0.393 in.)
        C 20.0 mm (0.787 in.)

    2. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    3. Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body.

      Note


      • Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M.

      • Do not apply too much primer.

      • Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover primer.

    4. Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the a new quarter window assembly.

      Tech Tips

      If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a non-residue solvent before it dries.

      Note


      • To prevent the glass from breaking at low temperatures, ensure that no primer adheres to the contact surface between the moulding and glass during application.

      • Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover primer.

      • Do not apply too much primer.

    5. Apply adhesive to the quarter window assembly.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

        Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.

        a 12.0 mm (0.472 in.)
        b 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)

      2. Load the sealer gun with cartridge.

      3. Apply adhesive to the quarter window assembly as shown in the illustration.

    6. Install the quarter window assembly to the vehicle body.

        Position the quarter window assembly so that the matchmarks are aligned, and press it in gently along the rim (when glass without a clip is used).

        *1 Double-sided Tape

        Engage the 3 clips to install the quarter window glass (when glass with all clips is used).

      3. Hold the quarter window assembly in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.

        Note


        • Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.

        • Check that the clips are attached to the body correctly.

        • Check the clearance between the body and glass.

      4. Lightly press the outer surface of the glass to ensure a close fit that the glass is securely fit to the vehicle body.

        Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.

        Tech Tips

        Apply adhesive onto the glass rim.

        Note

        Do not drive the vehicle within the time described in the table below.

  3. INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR


    1. After the adhesive has hardened, apply water from the outside of the vehicle. Check that no water leaks into the cabin.

    2. If water leaks into the cabin, allow the water to dry and add adhesive.

    3. Remove the protective tape.

  4. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY


    1. Pass the floor anchor of the rear seat outer seat belt assembly LH through the roof side inner garnish assembly LH.

    2. Engage the claw and 8 clips to install the roof side inner garnish assembly LH.

  5. CONNECT REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Connect the floor anchor end of the rear seat belt assembly and install the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the rear seat outer belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the floor panel.

  6. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 2 clips and the 5 claws.

    3. Install the deck trim side panel assembly LH with the 2 bolts and 4 clips.

  7. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side)


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 2 clips and the 5 claws.

    3. Install the deck trim side panel assembly RH with the 2 bolts and 5 clips.

  8. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SWITCH (w/ Air Suspension)


    1. Connect the connector.

      Engage the 2 claws to install the height control switch to the deck trim side panel assembly RH.

  9. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL


    1. A01NGK8

      Engage the 4 claws and install the reclining remote control bezel LH.

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for LH Side)

      Install the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook as shown in the illustration.

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for RH Side)

      Install the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook as shown in the illustration.

  12. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NEVY

      Install the 2 rope hook assemblies with the 2 bolts.

    2. Engage the 2 claws.

  13. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE COVER


    1. A01NFWF

      Engage the 2 claws and 3 clips.

    2. Install the rear seat side cover LH with the 2 clips.

  14. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE


    1. A01NEW9

      Engage the 3 clips, guide and 6 claws, and install the rear door scuff plate LH.

  15. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH


    1. A01ND4W

      Engage the guide.

    2. Engage the claw and 2 clips.

    3. Install the rear floor finish side plate LH with the clip.

  16. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

      Engage the 6 clips, 2 claws and 2 guides, and install the rear floor finish plate.

  17. INSTALL FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX

      Install the front deck floor box with the clip.

  18. INSTALL NO. 4 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Compact Spare Tire)

      Engage the 2 guides and install the No. 4 rear floor board.

  19. INSTALL NO. 4 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Full Size Spare Tire)

      Engage the 2 guides and install the No. 4 rear floor board.

  20. INSTALL DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. for Compact Spare Tire:

        Install the deck board sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

    2. for Full Size Spare Tire:


      1. A01NEZN

        Install the deck board sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

    3. A01NGS9

      Engage the 3 fasteners as shown in the illustration.

  21. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)


    1. A01NEZD

      Temporarily install the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    2. A01NGWM

      Temporarily install the 3 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    3. A01NDMI

      Connect the connector.

    4. Install the rear seat assembly LH with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  22. CONNECT REAR SEAT LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)


    1. When replacing the rear seat assembly LH or No. 2 rear seat reclining control cable with a new one:


      1. A01NHBE

        Connect the rear seat assembly LH or No. 2 rear seat reclining control cable as shown in the illustration.

    2. When replacing the rear seat lock cable assembly LH with a new one:


      1. Engage the joint piece with the cable of the rear seat lock cable assembly LH.

      2. Connect the rear seat lock cable assembly LH and connector case as shown in the illustration.

      3. Push the lock pin of the connector case as shown in the illustration to connect the rear seat lock cable assembly LH.

    3. When reusing the rear seat assembly LH, No. 2 rear seat reclining control cable and rear seat lock cable assembly LH:


      1. Connect the rear seat lock cable assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

    5. Press the adjusters lock piece to lock it as shown in the illustration.

      Connect the rear seatback board carpet assembly with the 4 clips.

  23. INSPECT REAR SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER LOCK (for LH Side)


    1. Check that the left and right adjusters lock simultaneously when sliding the seat.

    2. If the left and right adjusters do not lock simultaneously, adjust by loosening the bolts securing the seat.

  24. INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for LH Side)

      Engage the 4 claws and install the rear seat inner track bracket cover LH.

  25. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for LH Side)


    1. A01NHXN

      Engage the 4 claws and install the rear seat outer track bracket cover LH.

  26. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)

      Install the rear seat headrest assembly as shown in the illustration.

  27. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side)


    1. A01NH4O

      Temporarily install the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    2. A01NEWM

      Temporarily install the 3 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    3. A01NCPO

      Connect the connector.

    4. Install the rear seat assembly RH with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  28. CONNECT REAR SEAT LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)


    1. When replacing the rear seat assembly RH or rear seat reclining control cable with a new one:


      1. A01NHBE

        Connect the rear seat assembly RH or rear seat reclining control cable as shown in the illustration.

    2. When replacing the rear seat lock cable assembly RH with a new one:


      1. Engage the joint piece with the cable of the rear seat lock cable assembly RH.

      2. Connect the rear seat lock cable assembly RH and connector case as shown in the illustration.

  30. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for RH Side)

  31. INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for RH Side)
