Tech Tips
The back door glass can be reused. If any clip of the back door glass is broken, use butyl tape to support the glass until the applied adhesive hardens when reinstalling the back door glass.
REMOVE UPPER BACK WINDOW PANEL TRIM

Disengage the 7 clips and 6 claws, and remove the upper back window panel trim.
Tech Tips
If any clips remain on the back door panel after the upper back window panel trim is removed, remove the clips and install them to the upper back window panel trim.
REMOVE TONNEAU COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BACK DOOR FINISH COVER LH (w/o Power Back Door)
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and remove the back door finish cover LH.
REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BASE (w/ Power Back Door)
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the back door trim base.
REMOVE BACK DOOR FINISH COVER RH (w/o Power Back Door)
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and remove the back door finish cover RH.
REMOVE DOOR PULL HANDLE WITH SWITCH (w/ Power Back Door)
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and remove the door pull handle with switch.
Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER
Disengage the 4 claws and remove the back door lock cover.
REMOVE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw.
Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 room light assembly.
REMOVE BACK DOOR UPPER TRIM COVER LH

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the back door upper trim cover LH as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE BACK DOOR UPPER TRIM COVER RH

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the back door upper trim cover RH as shown in the illustration.

REMOVE BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
Disengage the 5 claws and remove the back door service hole cover LH.
REMOVE BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER RH
Disengage the 5 claws and remove the back door service hole cover RH.
REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 screws.
Grab the service holes by hand.
Note
Make sure to hold the clip bases as shown in the illustration.
Pull the back door trim panel assembly in the direction shown by the arrows in the illustration (pull perpendicular to the surface of the trim panel) to disengage the 2 claws and 16 clips, and remove the back door trim panel assembly.

Note
Removing the back door trim panel assembly at an angle may cause deformation or damage. To avoid this, make sure to pull the panel in the direction shown by the arrows (pull perpendicular to the surface of the panel).
Tech Tips
If any clips remain on the back door panel after the back door trim panel assembly is removed, remove the clips and install them to the back door trim panel assembly.
REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH
Disengage the 3 clips and remove the back door trim cover LH.
REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH
Disengage the 3 clips and remove the back door trim cover RH.
REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect each connector.
Remove the 2 hole plugs.
Remove the 5 nuts.
Disengage the clip and 2 pins to remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly.
Remove the clip and 2 pins.
REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY
Remove the nut and the rear wiper arm and blade assembly.
REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS
Disengage the 2 clamps.
Disconnect the 3 connectors.

Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.
Note
When separating the back door glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the paint or interior and exterior ornaments.

Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and back door glass from the interior, as shown in the illustration.
Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects that can serve as handles.
Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back door glass.
Note
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back door glass.

Place matchmarks on the back door glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Matchmarks are not necessary if the back door glass is not going to be reused.
Using suction cups, disengage the 2 clips and remove the back door glass.
REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS SPACER
Remove the 2 back door glass spacers.
REMOVE NO. 2 BACK WINDOW GLASS SPACER
Using a scraper, remove the No. 2 back window glass spacer.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
Be sure to replace the No. 2 window glass spacer with a new one.
REMOVE NO. 1 BACK WINDOW GLASS SPACER
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
REMOVE BACK WINDOW LOWER MOULDING
Using a scraper, remove the back window lower moulding.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the back window lower moulding with a new one.
REMOVE BACK WINDOW UPPER OUTSIDE MOULDING LH
Using a scraper, remove the back window upper outside moulding LH.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the back window upper outside moulding LH with a new one.
REMOVE BACK WINDOW UPPER OUTSIDE MOULDING RH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
REMOVE BACK WINDOW OUTSIDE MOULDING
Using a scraper, remove the back window outside moulding.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the back window outside moulding with a new one.
CLEAN BACK DOOR GLASS
Clean the outer edge of the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.
Note
Do not touch the back door glass surface after cleaning it.
Be careful not to damage the glass.
Even if using a new back door glass, clean the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.
CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

Using a scraper, remove the moulding and adhesive from the back door glass.
Clean and shape the contact surfaces of the vehicle body.
Using a knife, cut away excess adhesive on the contact surfaces of the vehicle body, as shown in the illustration.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Tech Tips
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.
Clean the contact surfaces of the vehicle body with a piece of cloth saturated with cleaner.
Tech Tips
Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
