ROOF WINDOW FIX GLASS INSTALLATION


  1. CLEAN ROOF WINDOW GLASS


    1. A01NFUQ

      Clean the outer edges of a roof window glass with a non-residue solvent.

      Note


      • Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.

      • Be careful not to damage the glass or clips.

  2. INSTALL ROOF WINDOW GLASS


    1. Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the roof panel reinforcement.

      Note


      • Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M.

      • Do not apply too much primer.

      • Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover primer.

    2. Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the roof window glass.

      Tech Tips

      If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a non-residue solvent before it dries.

      Note


      • To prevent the glass from breaking at low temperatures, ensure that no primer adheres to the contact surface between the moulding and glass during application.

      • Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover primer.

      • Do not apply too much primer.

    3. Apply adhesive to the roof window glass.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

        Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.

        b 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)

      2. Load the sealer gun with cartridge.

      3. Apply adhesive to the roof window glass as shown in the illustration.

    4. Install the roof window glass.


      1. A01ND7E

        Engage the 2 clips and install the roof window glass.

      2. Lightly press the front surface of the roof window glass to ensure that the roof window glass is securely fit to the roof panel reinforcement.

        Tech Tips

        Press the roof window glass with a force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22 lbf) or more.

      3. Hold the roof window glass using protective tape until applied adhesive becomes hard.

        Note

        Do not drive the vehicle within the time described in the table below.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 SLIDING ROOF SEAL

      Install a new No. 2 sliding roof seal.

  4. INSTALL NO. 6 SUNSHADE TRIM PROTECTOR

      install the No. 6 sunshade trim protector.

  5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NFSL

      Install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 12 nuts.

      Torque:
      7.2 N*m  { 73 kgf*cm, 64 in.*lbf }
