POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM Power Back Door Warning System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the power back door warning system does not operate, one of the following may be malfunctioning: 1) power back door warning buzzer circuit, 2) wireless door lock control system or 3) power back door ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

  • The power back door warning function can be customized. Make sure the function is ON. Click here


  • The power back door system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure Click here.

  1. CHECK OPERATION


    1. Check power back door system operation.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Back Door / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and check that the power back door warning buzzer sounds.

  3. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Disconnect the Y15 power back door warning buzzer connector and P33 power back door ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y15-1 - P33-26 (BZR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y15-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Y15-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
