REAR CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to a new rear engine oil seal lip.

      Note

      Keep the lip free from foreign objects.

      *1 Retainer

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the rear engine oil seal.

      SST
      09223-15030
      09950-70010   ( 09951-07150 )

      Note


      • Do not tap the oil seal at an angle.

      • Wipe off extra grease on the crankshaft.

      Oil seal tap in depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0196 to 0.0196 in.)

  2. INSTALL FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NFBWE01

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.

      09213-70011   ( 09213-70020 )
      09330-00021

    2. Clean the 8 bolts and 8 bolt holes.

      *1 Adhesive

      Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the 8 bolts.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

    4. Install the flywheel sub-assembly.

    5. A01NEY9E01

      In several steps, uniformly install and tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      83 N*m  { 846 kgf*cm, 61 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not start the engine within 1 hour after installing.

  3. INSTALL TRANSMISSION INPUT DAMPER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NFBWE01

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.

      09330-00021

    2. Install the transmission input damper.

    3. A01NGE0E01

      In several steps, uniformly install and tighten the 6 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Take care not to insert the transmission input damper in a wrong direction.
