DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

Stop the vehicle in a level place.
Remove the manual transmission filler plug and the gasket.
Remove the manual transmission drain plug and gasket, and then drain the manual transaxle oil.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLIES
Remove the front drive shaft assemblies Click here.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

Using SST, remove the transmission case oil seal.
REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

Using SST, remove the transaxle case oil seal.
INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.
Using SST and a hammer, install the transmission case oil seal.

| 10.6 to 11.6 mm (0.417 to 0.457 in.) |
Note
Do not damage the oil seal lip.
INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.
Using SST and a hammer, install the transaxle case oil seal.

| 1.4 to 2.4 mm (0.055 to 0.094 in.) |
Note
Do not damage the oil seal lip.
INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLIES
Install the front drive shaft assemblies Click here.
ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL
Install a new gasket and the manual transmission drain plug.
| *1 | 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.20 in.) |
Add manual transaxle oil.
INSPECT MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL
| *1 | 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.20 in.) |
Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.20 in.) of the bottom of the manual transmission filler plug opening.
Note
Excessively large or small amounts of oil may cause problems.
Check for oil leakage when the oil level is low.

Install the manual transmission filler plug and a new gasket.
