AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) Air Conditioning Control Panel Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This circuit consists of the instrument cluster finish panel assembly and the air conditioning amplifier. When the instrument cluster finish panel assembly is operated, signals are transmitted to the air conditioning amplifier through the LIN communication system.

If the LIN communication system malfunctions, the air conditioning amplifier does not operate even if the instrument cluster finish panel assembly is operated.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the D5 instrument cluster finish panel assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D5-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Reconnect the instrument cluster finish panel assembly connector.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY - IG CIRCUIT)

    1. Disconnect the D5 instrument cluster finish panel assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D5-4 (GND) - D5-5 (IG+) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    3. Reconnect the instrument cluster finish panel assembly connector.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)

    1. Disconnect the D5 instrument cluster finish panel assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the D15 air conditioning amplifier connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D5-3 (LIN1) - D15-37 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω

    4. Reconnect the instrument cluster finish panel assembly connector.

    5. Reconnect the air conditioning amplifier connector.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the instrument cluster finish panel assembly with a new or properly functioning one Click here.

    2. Operate instrument cluster finish panel assembly to check that it functions properly.

      OK
      Air conditioning control function operates normally.
