FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Check the angle of inclination required to lock the retractor.


      1. Gently incline the retractor from its initial position. Check that the belt does not lock when the retractor is inclined 15° or less in any direction. Also, check that the belt locks when the inclination of the retractor is 45° or more.

        Note

        Do not disassemble the retractor.

        If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt assembly.

      Engage the 2 hooks to temporarily install the retractor of the front seat outer belt assembly with the 2 bolts.

    3. Tighten bolt A and then bolt B.

      Torque:
      for Bolt A
      4.8 N*m  { 49 kgf*cm, 42 in.*lbf }
      Torque:
      for Bolt B
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Connect the pretensioner connector.

    5. Lock the locking button.

      Note

      Securely lock the locking button.

      Connect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly with the belt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
    7. A0119IR

      Connect the floor anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    8. Check that the ELR locks.

      Note


      • The check should be performed with the front seat outer belt assembly installed.

      • Do not allow the anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly and the protruding parts of the floor panel to overlap.


      1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

        If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt assembly.

    9. Remove the bolt to disconnect the floor anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

  2. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH


    1. A011BPG

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 clips.

    3. Pass the front seat outer belt through the slit in the center pillar upper garnish and remove the center pillar upper garnish.

    4. Remove the 3 clip caps from the body side.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE TRIM ASSEMBLY


    1. A0119QR

      Disengage the 6 clips and remove the side No. 1 trim.

  4. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER


    1. Engage the 5 claws and install the deck trim side belt hole cover.

  5. CONNECT BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Connect the back door weatherstrip.

  6. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER


    1. Engage the 6 claws and install the rear deck trim cover.

    2. Install the 2 clips.

  7. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Connect the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE


    1. Engage the 9 claws and install the front door scuff plate.

  9. INSTALL REAR SEAT SUB FLOOR BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Seat Assembly)


    1. Install the rear floor board with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Assembly)

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
