FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Check the angle of inclination required to lock the retractor.


      1. Gently incline the retractor from its initial position. Check that the belt does not lock when the retractor is inclined 15° or less in any direction. Also, check that the belt locks when the inclination of the retractor is 45° or more.

        Note

        Do not disassemble the retractor.

        If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.

    2. A0117CXE01

      Hook the lower stay of the retractor onto the 2 body hooks and provisionally install the retractor with the 2 bolts.

    3. Tighten bolt A and then bolt B.

      Torque:
      for Bolt A
      4.8 N*m  { 49 kgf*cm, 42 in.*lbf }
      Torque:
      for Bolt B
      41 N*m  { 420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

      Connect the pretensioner connector.


      1. Connect the pretensioner connector.

      2. Lock the locking button.

        Note

        Securely lock the locking button.

      Install the shoulder anchor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      41 N*m  { 420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

      Install the floor anchor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      41 N*m  { 420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

    7. Check that the ELR locks.

      Note


      • The check should be performed with the front seat outer belt installed.

      • Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat outer belt and the protruding parts of the floor panel to overlap.


      1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

        If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.

    8. Remove the bolt and the anchor plate.

  2. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH

    1. Install 3 new clips to the center pillar upper garnish.

    2. Engage the 4 clips and install the center pillar upper garnish.

    3. Install the 2 clips.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the front seat outer belt with the bolt.

      Torque:
      41 N*m  { 420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE TRIM ASSEMBLY RH

    A0119QR

    1. Engage the 6 clips and install the side No. 1 trim.

  5. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER RH

    1. Engage the 5 claws and install the deck trim side belt hole cover.

  6. INSTALL BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Install the back door weatherstrip.

  7. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER

    1. Engage the 6 claws.

    2. Install the rear deck trim cover with the 2 clips.

  8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH


    1. Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  9. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    1. Engage the 9 claws and install the front door scuff plate.

  10. INSTALL REAR SEAT SUB FLOOR BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Seat Assembly)

    1. Install the rear floor board with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Assembly)


    1. Install the rear seat assembly (w/ Rear Seat Assembly) Click here.

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  13. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT


    1. Inspect the SRS warning light Click here.
