FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips

The procedure described below is for the driver side of LHD. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides of LHD, unless otherwise specified.


  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      for Driver Side:


      1. Remove the screw.

      2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 5 claws and remove the front seat cushion inner shield LH.

        Remove the seat adjuster cover cap.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:

        Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the snap ring and reclining adjuster release handle RH.

        Remove the screw.

      3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 5 claws and remove the front seat cushion inner shield RH.

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Disengage the hook.

    2. Remove the clip.

      Remove the screw.

    4. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and clip, remove the front seat cushion inner shield LH.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT INNER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the front seat belt inner assembly LH Click here.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT INNER ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Remove the front seat belt inner assembly RH Click here.

  5. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the snap ring and reclining release handle LH.

  6. REMOVE SEAT TRACK LOCK OPEN LEVER LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the snap ring and seat track lock open lever.

  7. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle LH.

  8. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Remove the screw and vertical adjusting handle.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 5 claws and remove the front seat cushion shield.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Disengage the hook.

    2. Remove the clip.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and clip, remove the front seat cushion shield LH.

  11. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

      Disengage the 2 guides and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

  12. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front seat cushion lower shield LH.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. w/ Seat heater system:

        for Lengthwise direction:


        1. Disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector and seat heater connector.

        2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Remove the connector and front seat wire.

        for Lateral direction:


        1. Disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector and seat heater connector.

        2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Remove the connector and front seat wire.

    2. w/o Seat heater system:

        for Lengthwise direction:


        1. Disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector.

        2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Remove the connector and front seat wire.

        for Lateral direction:


        1. Disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector.

        2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Remove the connector and front seat wire.

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION WITH COVER PAD (for Cover Integrated Type)


    1. w/ Seat heater system:


      1. w/o Vertical Adjuster:

          Disconnect the connector.

        2. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

          Remove the 2 front seatback cover band and cushion band.

          Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

        5. Remove the airbag connector.

      2. w/ Vertical Adjuster:

          Remove the 2 front seatback cover bands.

          Disconnect the connector.

        3. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

          Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.

        5. Remove the airbag connector.

    2. for Driver Side:

        w/o Vertical Adjuster:


        1. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seatback.

        w/ Vertical Adjuster:


        1. Remove the 5 bolts and the front seatback.

      for Front Passenger Side:


      1. Using a screwdriver, remove the E-ring.

      2. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seatback.

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.

    5. Remove the cushion band from the seat cushion frame.

    6. Remove the front seat cushion with cover pad.

      for Front Passenger Seat:


      1. Remove the front seat cushion pad B.

  17. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER (for Cover Separate Type)


    1. w/ Seat heater system:

        w/o Vertical Adjuster:


        1. Disconnect the connector.

        2. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

          Remove the front seatback cover band and cushion band.

          Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

        5. Remove the airbag connector.

      2. w/ Vertical Adjuster:


        1. A0118S2

          Remove the 2 front seatback cover bands.

          Disconnect the connector.

        3. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

          Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.

        5. Remove the airbag connector.

    2. for Driver Side:


      1. w/o Vertical Adjuster:

          Remove the 4 bolts and the front seatback.

      2. w/ Vertical Adjuster:


        1. A011BLI

          Remove the 5 bolts and the front seatback.

    3. A0119F7

      for Front Passenger Side:


      1. Using a screwdriver, remove the E-ring.

      2. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seatback.

    4. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

    5. A0117B9

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.

    6. Remove the cushion band from the seat cushion frame.

    7. Remove the front seat cushion with cover pad.

      Remove the 14 hog rings and remove the front seat cushion cover.

  18. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Cover Integrated Type)

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    2. A0118TW

      Unfasten the 2 zippers.

    3. A011BSO

      Remove the nut and remove the seatback bracket.

    4. Remove the front seatback cover with pad.

  19. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER (for Cover Separate Type)

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    2. A011B32

      Unfasten the 2 zippers.

    3. A0118AP

      Remove the nut and remove the seatback bracket.

    4. Remove the front seatback cover with pad.

    5. A0119XX

      Remove the 14 hog rings and the front seatback cover.

  20. REMOVE DYNAMIC DAMPER (for 1KR-FE)

      Disengage the hook and remove the dynamic damper.

  21. REMOVE SEATBACK FELT


    1. A0119M5

      Remove the seatback felt.

  22. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the front seat side airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
