FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Tech Tips

The procedure described below is for the driver side of LHD. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides of LHD, unless otherwise specified.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:


    • The nuts must not be reused.

    • Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.


    1. Install the front seat side airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Engage the clamp.

  2. INSTALL SEATBACK FELT


    1. Install the new seatback felt as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL DYNAMIC DAMPER (for 1KR-FE)

      Engage the hook and install the dynamic damper.

  4. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER (for Cover Separate Type)

      *2 Hog Ring Pliers

      Using hog ring pliers, install the front seatback cover with 14 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Do not soil or scratch the front seatback cover.

      • When installing hog rings, minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

      Install the seatback cover with pad.

    3. Install the front seatback cover bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • For vehicles with side airbags, the side airbags may not be activated normally unless the front seatback cover is securely installed.

      • Check that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.

      • Install the bracket securely.

      Fasten the 2 zippers.

      Using hog ring pliers, install the 3 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Do not soil or scratch the front seatback cover.

      • When installing hog rings, minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

  5. INSTALL SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Cover Integrated Type)

      Install the seatback cover with pad.

    2. Install the front seatback cover bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • For vehicles with side airbags, the side airbags may not be activated normally unless the front seatback cover is securely installed.

      • Check that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.

      • Install the bracket securely.

      Note

        Torque:
        42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      2. w/ Vertical Adjuster:

          Install the front seatback with the 5 bolts.

        Torque:
        42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    4. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. A0119F7

        Install the front seatback with the 4 bolts.

        Torque:
        42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      2. Install the E-ring.

    5. A0117B9

      Install the cushion cover band to the seat cushion frame.

    6. Install the 4 clips.

    7. w/Seat heater system:


      1. w/o Vertical Adjuster:


        1. A011A4X

          Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

        2. Install the airbag connector.

        3. A0119BN

          Connect the connector.

        4. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

        5. A0116WU

          Install the 2 front seatback cover band and cushion band.

      2. w/ Vertical Adjuster:

          Install the airbag connector.

        2. Engage the 3 wire harness clamps.

        3. A011A0J

          Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

        4. Connect the connector.

          Install the 2 seatback cover bands.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION WITH COVER PAD (for Cover Integrated Type)

      for Front Passenger Seat:


      1. Install the front seat cushion pad B.

    2. Temporarily install the front seat cushion.

    3. for Driver Side:


      1. w/o Vertical Adjuster:

          Install the front seatback with the 4 bolts.

        Torque:
        42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      2. w/ Vertical Adjuster:


        1. A011824

          Install the front seatback with the 5 bolts.

        Torque:
        42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    4. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. A011A6H

        Install the front seatback with the 4 bolts.

        Torque:
        42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      2. Install the E-ring.

    5. A011A3V

      Install the cushion cover band to the seat cushion frame.

    6. Install the 4 clips.

    7. w/Seat heater system:


      1. w/o Vertical Adjuster:

          Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

        2. Install the airbag connector.

          Connect the connector.

  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE RH (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. w/Seat heater system:

        for Lengthwise direction:


        1. Connect the occupant detection sensor connector and seat heater connector.

        2. Engage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Install the connector and front seat wire.

        for Lateral direction:


        1. Connect the occupant detection sensor connector and seat heater connector.

        2. Engage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Install the connector and front seat wire.

    2. w/o Seat heater system:

        for Lengthwise direction:


        1. Connect the occupant detection sensor connector.

        2. Engage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Install the connector and front seat wire.

        for Lateral direction:


        1. Connect the occupant detection sensor connector.

        2. Engage the wire harness clamp.

        3. Install the connector and front seat wire.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Engage the 3 claws and install the front seat cushion lower shield LH.

    2. Install the clip.

  10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Engage the 2 guides and install the reclining adjuster cover LH.

  12. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Engage the 5 claws and install the front seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Tighten the screw.

  14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Engage the 2 claws and clip, install the front seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Tighten the 2 screws.

      Engage the hook.

    4. Install the clip.

  15. INSTALL SEAT TRACK LOCK OPEN LEVER LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Install the snap ring to the seat track lock open lever LH, and install them onto the seat track hinge pin.

  16. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Install the snap ring to the reclining adjuster release handle LH, and install them onto the reclining hinge pin.

  17. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Install the vertical adjusting handle.

    2. Tighten the screw.

  18. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster release handle LH.

  19. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BELT INNER ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Install front seat inner belt assembly RH Click here.

  21. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

        Install the seat adjuster cover.

      2. A011ARX

        Engage the 5 claws and install the front seat cushion inner shield LH.

      3. Tighten the screw.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. A011AR4

        Engage the 5 claws and install the front seat cushion inner shield LH.

      2. Tighten the screw.

        Install the snap ring to the reclining adjuster release handle LH, and install them onto the reclining hinge pin.

  22. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)


    1. A011BHF

      Engage the 2 claws and clip, install the front seat cushion inner shield LH.

    2. Tighten the screw.

    3. A0118ZC

      Engage the hook.

    4. Install the clip.
