FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION:


  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • for Cover Integrated Type
    If the front seat side airbag assembly was deployed, replace the front seat side airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, or seatback cover with pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage (See page Click here).
  • for Cover Separate Type
    If the front seat side airbag assembly was deployed, replace the front seat side airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover or separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage (See page Click here).

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

      Disconnect the buckle switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.


      1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

      Using "TORX" socket wrench E10, remove the 4 bolts and front seat.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH


    1. for LHD front passenger seat:

        Disconnect the buckle switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.


        1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

      3. Disconnect the front seat cushion airbag connector.


        1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

      4. Disconnect the front seat wire.

    2. for RHD front passenger seat:

        Disconnect the buckle switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.


        1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

      3. Disconnect the front seat cushion airbag connector.


        1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

      4. Disconnect the front seat wire.

      Using "TORX" socket wrench E10, remove the 4 bolts and front seat.

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WIRE HARNESS (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

      Remove the front seatback cover band.

      Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

    3. Remove the front seat side airbag assembly connector.

      Disengage the fastener to disconnect the front seat side airbag assembly wire harness.

    5. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. A0119II

        Disengage the fastener to disconnect the seat heater wire harness.

      2. Disconnect the connector and disengage the clamp.

  5. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WIRE HARNESS (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Remove the 2 front seatback cover bands.

    2. A011BWB

      Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.

    3. Remove the front seat side airbag assembly connector.

    4. A0119W9

      Disengage the fastener to disconnect the front seat side airbag assembly wire harness.

    5. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. A0119II

        Disengage the fastener to disconnect the seat heater wire harness.

      2. Disconnect the connector and disengage the clamp.

  6. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Cover Integrated Type)

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    2. A0118TW

      Unfasten the 2 zippers.

      Remove the nut and remove the seatback bracket.

    4. Remove the front seatback cover with pad.

  7. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Cover Separate Type)

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    2. A011B32

      Unfasten the 2 zippers.

    3. A0118AP

      Remove the nut and remove the seatback bracket.

    4. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the front seat side airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
