FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)

    1. Perform a diagnostic system check Click here.

    2. With the front seat side airbag assembly installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the separate type front seatback cover, separate type front seatback pad or seatback cover with pad with a new one:


      • Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front seatback assembly.

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)

    1. Perform a diagnostic system check Click here.

    2. With the front seat side airbag assembly removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the front seat side airbag assembly a new one:


      • Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front seat side airbag assembly.

      • Any cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector.
