REAR WINDOW CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

INSTALL REAR WINDOW CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

1. Confirm that the ignition switch is off.

2. Confirm that the cable to the negative battery terminal is disconnected.

   CAUTION:

   Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

   Install 4 new clips and 4 new spacers the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly as shown in the illustration.

   Tech Tips

   
   

   • Do not push in the pin.

   • Make sure that the clips are installed in the correct direction.

   • Make sure that the spacers are installed properly, in the correct direction, and that they are not damaged.

4. Install the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly with 2 bolts.

   

   Torque:

   9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 86 in.*lbf }

   Note

   Do not twist the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

   *2	Clip
   *3	Airbag
   *4	Body

   Install the 3 clips and the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly to the body panel as shown in the illustration.

   Note

   Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

6. Mark the clips.

   Tech Tips

   Mark the clips to make sure that they are not reused.

   *1	Locking Button

   Connect the airbag connector.

   Note

   Securely lock the locking button.

CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque:

5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
