KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)

      Perform a diagnostic system check Click here.

    2. With the driver side knee airbag assembly installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the instrument panel with a new one: Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the instrument panel around the driver side knee airbag.

  2. INSPECT KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)

    2. With the driver side knee airbag removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the driver side knee airbag, instrument panel or instrument panel reinforcement with new ones:


      • Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the driver side knee airbag.


      • Any cracks or other damage to the connector.


      • Deformation or cracks on the instrument panel or instrument panel reinforcement.
