SPIRAL CABLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE


    1. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the spiral cable with a new one:


      • Scratches, cracks, dents or chips on the connector or the spiral cable.

        Note


        • Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.

        • If there is a malfunction in the steering sensor, replace the spiral cable with steering sensor.

    2. A0117ZFE01

      Inspect the spiral cable.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Note

        To avoid breaking the spiral cable, do not turn the spiral cable more than necessary.

        If the value is not within the specified range, replace the spiral cable.

        2.5 rotations to the left
        2.5 rotations to the right
        A5(IL+2) - C12(IL+2) Center Below 1 Ω
        2.5 rotations to the left

        A8(EAU) - C4(EAU) Center Below 1 Ω
        2.5 rotations to the left
        2.5 rotations to the right
        A9(AU2) - C5(AU2) Center Below 1 Ω
        2.5 rotations to the left
        2.5 rotations to the right
        A10(AU1) - C6(AU1) Center Below 1 Ω
        2.5 rotations to the left
        2.5 rotations to the right
        D1(D+) - B2(D+) Center Below 1 Ω
        2.5 rotations to the left
        2.5 rotations to the right
        D2(D-) - B1(D-) Center Below 1 Ω
        2.5 rotations to the left
        2.5 rotations to the right
