INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Tech Tips
Perform the simulation method by selecting CHECK MODE (signal check) with the intelligent tester Click here.
After selecting CHECK MODE (signal check), perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the airbag system or driving the vehicle on a city or rough road Click here.
PROCEDURE
CHECK CONNECTOR
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Check that the connector is properly connected to the knee airbag assembly.
| OK |
|---|
| The connector is properly connected. |
Tech Tips
If the connector is not connected securely, reconnect the connector and proceed to the next inspection.
Disconnect the connector from the knee airbag assembly.
Check that the instrument panel wire connector (on the knee airbag assembly side) is not damaged.
| OK |

| *2 | Center Airbag Sensor Assembly |
| *3 | Front view of wire harness connector (to Knee Airbag Squib) |
| *4 | Connector C |
Connect the white wire side of SST (resistance 2.1 Ω) to connector C.
CAUTION:
Never connect a tester to the knee airbag assembly (knee airbag squib) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.
Note
Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting.
Insert SST straight into the terminals of the connector.
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
