CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Tech Tips

The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.


  1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Confirm that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Confirm that the cable to the negative battery terminal is disconnected.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Install 5 new clips and 5 new spacers the curtain shield airbag assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips


      • Do not push in the pin.

      • Make sure that the clips are installed in the correct direction.

      • Make sure that the spacers are installed properly, in the correct direction, and that they are not damaged.

    4. Install the curtain shield airbag assembly with the 2 bolts.

      A0117TT
      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 86 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

      *3 Airbag
      *4 Body

      Install the 5 clips and the curtain shield airbag assembly to the body panel as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

    6. Mark the clips.

      Tech Tips

      Mark the clips to make sure that they are not reused.

      Connect the airbag connector.

      Note

      Securely lock the locking button.

  2. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the roof headlining Click here.

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT


    1. Inspect SRS warning light Click here.
