AIRBAG SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:B1649/82

DTC Code DTC Name
B1649/82 Passenger Side Rear Sensor Initialization Incomplete

DESCRIPTION

The circuit for the passenger side rear side collision sensor (to determine deployment of the rear window curtain shield airbag) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly and passenger side rear airbag sensor.

The passenger side rear airbag sensor detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1649/82 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the circuit for the passenger side rear side collision sensor (to determine deployment of the rear window curtain shield airbag).

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
B1649/82

When one of following conditions is met:

  • The center airbag sensor assembly receives a line short circuit signal, an open circuit signal, a short circuit to ground signal or a short circuit to B+ signal in the circuit for the passenger side rear side collision sensor (to determine deployment of the rear window curtain shield airbag) for 2 seconds.

  • Passenger side - side airbag sensor (for rear side) malfunction

  • Passenger side rear airbag sensor malfunction

  • Center airbag sensor assembly malfunction

  • Floor wire

  • Passenger side - side airbag sensor (for rear side)

  • Passenger side rear airbag sensor

  • Center airbag sensor assembly
