AIRBAG SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:B1698/82

DTC Code DTC Name
B1698/82 Passenger Side Door Side Airbag Sensor Initialization Incomplete

DESCRIPTION

The circuit for the passenger side - side collision sensor (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag (passenger side) and curtain shield airbag (passenger side)*1) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, passenger side - side airbag sensor (for front side) and passenger side - side airbag sensor (for rear side)*1.

The passenger side - side airbag sensor (for front side) and passenger side - side airbag sensor (for rear side)*1 detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1698/82 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the circuit for the passenger side - side collision sensor (for front side) (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag (passenger side) and curtain shield airbag (passenger side)*1).

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
B1698/82

When one of following conditions is met:

  • The center airbag sensor assembly receives a line short circuit signal, an open circuit signal, a short circuit to ground signal or a short circuit to B+ signal in the circuit for the passenger side - side collision sensor (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag (passenger side) and curtain shield airbag (passenger side)*1) for 2 seconds.

  • Passenger side - side airbag sensor (for front side) malfunction

  • Passenger side - side airbag sensor (for rear side) malfunction*1

  • Center airbag sensor assembly malfunction

  • Floor wire

  • Front door wire (passenger side)

  • Passenger side - side airbag sensor (for front side)

  • Passenger side - side airbag sensor (for rear side)*1

  • Center airbag sensor assembly
