METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Fuel Gauge Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly controls the fuel receiver gauge in accordance with the resistance of the fuel sender gauge assembly, which varies depending on the amount of fuel remaining in the fuel tank.

  1. CONFIRM DTC OUTPUT

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (FUEL METER)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

  4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.

      Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
