METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Tachometer Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly controls the tachometer in accordance with engine speed signals from the ECM through the CAN communication system.

  1. CONFIRM DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (TACHOMETER)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

      Engine speed displayed on the GTS is approximately the same as that of the tachometer reading.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (TACHOMETER)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.
