DESCRIPTION

This DTC will be stored if the transponder key ECU does not detect that the unlock warning switch is ON even when the ignition switch is ON. Under normal conditions, the unlock warning switch is ON when the ignition switch is ON.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

If the transponder key ECU is replaced, register the key and ECU - ECM communication ID.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (KEY SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Immobiliser / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the tester, read the Data List.

      ON: Key is in ignition key cylinder

      OFF: No key is in ignition key cylinder

  2. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH

      Remove the unlock warning switch Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2

      Switch pushed

      (Key set)

      Below 1 Ω

      Switch free

      (Key removed)

      10 kΩ or higher
    3. Reinstall the unlock warning switch.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the D18 unlock warning switch connector.

    3. Reconnect the unlock warning switch connector.

      Disconnect the D29 transponder key ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the D18 unlock warning switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D29-3 (KSW) - D18-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      D18-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the transponder key ECU connector.

    5. Reconnect the unlock warning switch connector.
