LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM DTC CHECK / CLEAR

Note

Connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle and turn either front door courtesy light switch on-and-off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.


  1. CHECK DTCS (WITH INTELLIGENT TESTER)


    1. Check for main body ECU DTCs.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Body / Main Body / DTC.

        Tech Tips


        • DTCs can also be output with the ignition switch off.

        • If unrelated DTCs are output, the ECU may be malfunctioning.

    2. Check for certification ECU DTCs.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Body / Entry & Start/Wireless Tuner / DTC.

        Tech Tips


        • DTCs can also be output with the ignition switch off.

        • The certification ECU also outputs DTCs for the steering lock actuator assembly.

        • If unrelated DTCs are output, the ECU may be malfunctioning.

    3. Check for power management control ECU or power source control ECU DTCs.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Body / Power Management1 / DTC.

        Tech Tips

        DTCs can also be output with the ignition switch off.

  2. CLEAR DTCS (WITH INTELLIGENT TESTER)


    1. Clear main body ECU DTCs.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Body / Main Body / DTC.

        Note


        • If DTCs are not cleared, turn the ignition switch off and repeat the DTC clear procedure again.

        • Do not clear DTCs with the intelligent tester until the cause of the malfunction has been identified.

    2. Clear certification ECU DTCs.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Body / Entry & Start/Wireless Tuner / DTC.

        Note


        • If DTCs are not cleared, turn the ignition switch off and repeat the DTC clear procedure again.

        • Do not clear DTCs with the intelligent tester until the cause of the malfunction has been identified.

    3. Clear power management control ECU or power source control ECU DTCs.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Body / Power Management1 / DTC.
