FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL

  • The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.


  1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH

      Disengage the clip and 2 guides and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.

  2. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL

      *1 Moulding Remover

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and remove the front armrest base upper panel.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel.

  4. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 10 clips and 6 claws.

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable and remove the front door trim board.

  6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front No. 2 speaker.

  7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the speaker connector.

      Drill out the 3 rivet heads using a drill with a bit diameter of less than 4 mm (0.16 in.), and remove the No. 1 speaker.

    3. Move the drill around the rivet head circumference to cut the flange.

      CAUTION:

      Be careful. The cut rivet is very hot.

      Note

      Do not drill the rivet at an angle as this will cause damage to the drill and drill hole. Line up the drill and rivet, and carefully drill the rivet head straight out.

    4. After drilling out the flange, continue drilling to push out the shards on the drill.

    5. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the inside of the door.
