AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM Steering Pad Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends an operation signal from the steering pad switch to the radio receiver.

If there is an open in the circuit, the audio system cannot be operated using the steering pad switch.

If there is a short in the circuit, the same condition as when a switch is continuously depressed occurs.

Therefore, the radio receiver cannot be operated using the steering pad switch, and also the radio receiver itself cannot function.

      (to Radio Receiver Assembly)

Disconnect the D63 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D63-7 (SW1) - D63-6 (SWG) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      Seek+ switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      Seek- switch: pushed 312.5 to 345.5 Ω
      Volume+ switch: pushed 950 to 1050 Ω
      Volume- switch: pushed 2954.5 to 3265.5 Ω
      D63-8 (SW2) - D63-6 (SWG) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      MODE/PWR switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
    3. Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      V1-10 (AU1) - V1-8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      Seek+ switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
      Seek- switch: pushed 312.5 to 345.5 Ω
      Volume+ switch: pushed 950 to 1050 Ω
      Volume- switch: pushed 2954.5 to 3265.5 Ω
      V1-9 (AU2) - V1-8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 95 to 105 kΩ
      MODE/PWR switch: pushed Below 2.5 Ω
    3. Reconnect the steering pad switch LH connector.

      Component without harness connected

      (Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly)

Disconnect the V1 steering pad switch LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the D19 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      V1-8 (EAU) - D19-4 (EAU) Center Below 1 Ω
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right
      V1-10 (AU1) - D19-6 (AU1) Center Below 1 Ω
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right
      V1-9 (AU2) - D19-5 (AU2) Center Below 1 Ω
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right

      Note

The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Be sure to read the precaution for the SRS Click here.

    4. Reconnect the steering pad switch LH connector.

    5. Reconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
