STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

INSTALL STEERING WHEEL LOWER BOSS COVER
1. Engage the 2 claws and the 2 pins, install the steering wheel lower boss cover.
INSTALL STEERING SHAKE DAMPER (for CVT)
1. Install the steering shake damper with the 2 screws.
INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT
1. Engage the claw and install the No. 1 steering wheel ornament.
2. Install the screw.
TURN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD
ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE
1. Check that the ignition switch is turned off.
2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
  
  CAUTION:
  
  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. Center the spiral cable.
  1. Turn the spiral cable counterclockwise until it locks.
    
    Note
    
    To avoid breaking the spiral cable, turn the spiral cable gently and do not use excessive force.
    
    Tech Tips
    
    The spiral cable turns a maximum of approximately 5 times.

    *1 Alignment mark
    
    Turn the spiral cable 2.5 times clockwise from its locked position and align the center marks.
INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  Align the matchmarks and install the steering wheel assembly onto the steering column assembly.
2. Install the nut.
  
  Torque:
  
  50 N*m { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }
3. Connect all the connectors to the spiral cable.
INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH LH
1. Engage the claw and 2 pins.
2. Install the steering pad switch LH with the screw.
3. Secure the wire harness on the damper hook.
4. Connect the connector.
INSTALL STEERING PAD
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque:

5.4 N*m { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
