STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL

CAUTION:

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  2. REMOVE STEERING PAD

    1. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, push open the spring clips and disengage the pins.

      Note

      Lightly hold the horn button assembly to prevent it from falling.

    2. Pull the steering pad toward you.

    3. A0118YSE01

      Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the locking button.

    4. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, disconnect the connector.

    5. Detach the horn terminal.

  3. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disconnect the wire harness.

    3. Remove the screw.

    4. Disengage the claw and the 2 pins.

    5. Remove the steering pad switch LH.

  4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Fully extend and tilt up the steering wheel.

      Remove the steering wheel assembly set nut.

    3. Put matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and the steering main shaft.

    4. Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable.

      Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

      09950-50013   ( 09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05070 )

      Note

      Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tip of SST (center bolt) before use.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT


    1. A011ANK

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the claw and remove the No. 1 steering wheel ornament.

  6. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER (for CVT)

    1. Remove the 2 screws and the steering shake damper.

  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL LOWER BOSS COVER

    1. Disengage the 2 claws and the 2 pins, and remove the steering wheel lower boss cover.
