PARKING BRAKE CABLE (for Rear Disc Brake) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front seat assembly Click here.

  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Assembly)


    1. Remove the rear seat assembly Click here.

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT UNDER TRAY

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT SUB FLOOR BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Seat Assembly)

    1. Remove the 6 bolts and rear floor board.

  5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    1. Disengage the 9 claws and remove the front door scuff plate.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

  9. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  10. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER

    1. Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the rear deck trim cover.

  11. SEPARATE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

  12. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER RH

    1. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the deck trim side belt hole cover.

  13. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER LH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  14. REMOVE SIDE NO. 1 TRIM ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Disengage the 6 clips and remove the side No. 1 trim.

  15. REMOVE SIDE NO. 1 TRIM ASSEMBLY LH

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  16. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  17. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

    1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console upper panel.

    2. Separate the shifting hole cover.

  18. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for CVT)

    1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console upper panel.

  19. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

    1. Rotate the 2 rear clips in the direction indicated by the arrows and remove them.

    2. Disengage the 2 front clips and remove the rear console box assembly RR.

  20. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the lock nut and adjusting nut.

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

      Remove the 2 nuts from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts and parking brake lever sub-assembly.

      Pull up the parking brake lever claw and remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

  21. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE COVER

      Remove the 5 clips from the floor carpet.

    2. A0118KV

      Disconnect the 2 hooks from the floor carpet and pull back the floor carpet to the place where the parking brake cable cover can be removed.

      Remove the 2 clips.

    4. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the parking brake cable cover.

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the No. 2 and No. 3 parking brake cable assemblies from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

  23. REMOVE REAR WHEELS

  24. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 bolts.

      Separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the rear disc brake operation lever.

      *3 Offset Wrench (14 mm)

      Insert an offset wrench (14 mm) at the base of the parking brake cable as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip. Pull out the parking brake cable from the rear disc brake cylinder.

  25. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 bolts.

      Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the rear disc brake operation lever.

      *3 Offset Wrench (14 mm)

      Insert an offset wrench (14 mm) at the base of the parking brake cable as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip. Pull out the parking brake cable from the rear disc brake cylinder.
