REAR BRAKE (for Drum Type) DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE KIT

      Using SST, separate the shoe return spring from the rear brake shoe.

      Note

      Do not damage the wheel cylinder boot.

      Remove the tension spring.

      Using SST, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and rear brake shoe.

      Remove the shoe return spring from the rear brake shoe and remove the rear brake shoe strut set.

      Using SST, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and rear brake shoe.

      Using needle-nose pliers, separate the parking brake cable.

  2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE AUTOMATIC ADJUST LEVER

      Remove the rear brake automatic adjust lever tension spring and rear brake automatic adjust lever.

  3. REMOVE REAR BRAKE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver, remove the C-washer and rear brake parking brake shoe lever sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE REAR DRUM BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP

  5. REMOVE REAR DRUM BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG

  6. REMOVE REAR WHEEL BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

      Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the brake tube from the rear brake wheel cylinder assembly.

      Remove the bolt and rear wheel brake cylinder assembly from the backing plate.

  7. REMOVE REAR WHEEL CYLINDER CUP KIT


    1. A01194X

      Remove the 2 wheel cylinder boots from the rear wheel brake cylinder assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 pistons.

    3. Remove the rear wheel brake cylinder compression spring from the rear brake wheel cylinder assembly.

    4. Remove the wheel cylinder cup from each piston.
