  • When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output Click here.

  2. CHECK IF BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Check if the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector is securely connected.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

    OK
  3. CHECK BATTERY


    1. Check the battery voltage.

      Standard voltage
      11 to 14 V

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (VSC OFF SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

      ABS/VSC/TRC
      GTS Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      TRC/VSC Off Mode TRC/VSC off mode / Normal, TRC OFF, Unknown or VSC OFF

      Normal: Normal mode

      TRC OFF: TRC OFF mode

    6. Using the GTS, check the switch condition on the GTS changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

      OK
      The GTS display changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

  5. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH

      Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the D54 VSC OFF switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (E) - 6 (+) Switch is pushed in Below 1 Ω
      3 (E) - 6 (+) Switch is not pushed in 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - VSC OFF SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the A16*1 or A17*2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.


      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A16-30 (CSW) - D54-6 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A16-30 (CSW) or D54-6 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D54-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-30 (CSW) - D54-6 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A17-30 (CSW) or D54-6 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D54-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
