MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

Note

When the transaxle is removed, be sure to use a new clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly and new installation bolts. Removal of the transaxle allows the compressed clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly to return to its original position, and dust could damage the seal of the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly, possibly causing clutch fluid leaks.


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE


    1. Remove the engine assembly with transaxle Click here.

  2. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and remove the drive shaft heat insulator bracket from the engine.

  3. REMOVE CONTROL CABLE BRACKET

      Disengage the wire harness clamps and connector from control cable bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and control cable bracket.

  4. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

      Open the terminal cap.

    2. Remove the nut and disconnect terminal 30.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the 2 bolts and the starter assembly.

  5. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 10 bolts and the manual transaxle.

  6. REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE ENGINE MOUNTING CONTROL BRACKET

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and the engine mounting control bracket.

  7. REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and the engine mounting bracket LH.

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE PLUG

      Remove the transmission case plug with the O-ring from the manual transaxle.

  9. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the bolt and oxygen sensor wire harness clamp bracket.

    2. A0119B1

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket as shown in the illustration.

    3. A0117JV

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 CLUTCH HOUSING COVER

    1. Remove the No. 1 clutch housing cover from the transaxle.

  11. REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE

      Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the bleeder clutch release tube.

    2. Remove the bolt and bleeder clutch release tube.

  12. REMOVE CLUTCH FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET

    1. Remove the bolt clutch flexible hose bracket.

  13. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BLEEDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the clutch release bleeder from the bleeder clutch release tube.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and clutch release bleeder.

  14. REMOVE CLUTCH TUBE BOOT

  15. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE WITH BEARING CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly together with the bleeder clutch release tube.

  16. REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE

    1. Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the clutch release tube from the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly.
