Note
When the transaxle is removed, be sure to use a new clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly and new installation bolts. Removal of the transaxle allows the compressed clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly to return to its original position, and dust could damage the seal of the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly, possibly causing clutch fluid leaks.
REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR BRACKET
Remove the 2 bolts and the drive shaft heat insulator bracket from the engine assembly.
REMOVE CONTROL CABLE BRACKET
Disengage the wire harness clamps and connector from the control cable bracket.
Remove the 2 bolts and the control cable bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
Open the terminal cap.
Remove the nut and disconnect terminal 30.
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 bolts and the starter assembly.
REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the 10 bolts and the manual transaxle assembly from the engine assembly.
Note
To avoid damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the manual transaxle assembly and the engine assembly.
To avoid damage to the input shaft, do not forcefully shake the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE ENGINE MOUNTING CONTROL BRACKET
Remove the 3 bolts and the transverse engine engine mounting control bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
Remove the 4 bolts and the transverse engine engine mounting bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE PLUG
Remove the transmission case plug from the manual transaxle assembly.
Remove the O-ring from the transmission case plug.
REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
Remove the bolt and the oxygen sensor wire harness clamp bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
Remove the bolt and the wire harness clamp bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
Remove the bolt and the wire harness clamp bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE NO. 1 CLUTCH HOUSING COVER
Remove the No. 1 clutch housing cover from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the bleeder clutch release tube from the clutch release bleeder sub-assembly.
Remove the bolt and the bleeder clutch release tube from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE CLUTCH FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET
Remove the bolt and the clutch flexible hose bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BLEEDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the clutch release bleeder sub-assembly from the bleeder clutch release tube.
Remove the 2 bolts and the clutch release bleeder sub-assembly from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE CLUTCH TUBE BOOT
Remove the clutch tube boot from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE WITH BEARING CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 3 bolts and the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly together with the bleeder clutch release tube from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE
Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the bleeder clutch release tube from the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly.
