COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL


  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    *1 Water Filler Cap Sub-assembly
    *2 Radiator Drain Cock Plug

    CAUTION:

    To avoid the danger of being burned, do not remove the water filler cap sub-assembly while the engine and assembly are still hot. Thermal expansion will cause hot engine coolant and steam to blow out from the radiator assembly.


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

    2. Remove the water filler cap sub-assembly.

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT ABSORBER

    1. Disengage the 7 claws and remove the radiator support absorber.

  4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

    1. Remove the front bumper energy absorber.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR SIDE AIR SEAL

    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the radiator side air seal.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR SIDE AIR SEAL

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 side.

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT EXTENSION LH

    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the radiator support extension.

  8. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT EXTENSION RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the claw.

    3. Disengage the guide and remove the windshield washer jar.

    4. Disconnect the washer hose.

    5. Disconnect the connectors.

  10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 5 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

      Remove the 8 bolts.

    3. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front bumper reinforcement.

  11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner hose.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps and 2 guides and remove the air cleaner cap.

  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the air cleaner filter element.

  13. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE

      Disengage the hose clamp.

    2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the reserve tank hose from reserve tank.

  14. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE

      Loosen the clamp and disconnect the radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  15. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the horn connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and the horn.

  16. REMOVE RADIATOR LOWER NO. 1 AIR DEFLECTOR

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Remove the 2 guides and radiator air deflector.

  17. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the hood lock cable.

      Remove the 5 bolts and the upper radiator support.

  18. REMOVE FAN SHROUD


    1. A0117DJ

      Disengage the claw and remove the piping clamp.

    2. A011B3Y

      Disengage the 3 harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

    3. Remove the bolt from the ECM.

    4. A0119UU

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the fan shroud from the vehicle.

  19. REMOVE COOLING FAN MOTOR INSULATOR

      Remove the bolt and the cooling fan motor insulator.

  20. REMOVE FAN

      Remove the nut and the fan.

  21. REMOVE COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. A011AMN

      Remove the 3 screws and the cooling fan motor.
