FUEL PUMP INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP


    1. A0118S7E01

      Check the resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 0.2 to 3.0 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

    2. Check the operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage between the terminals and check that the pump operates.

        CAUTION:


        • This inspection must be done quickly (within 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.

        • Keep the pump as far away from the battery as possible.

        • Always do the switching (voltage on/off) at the battery terminal.
