FUEL INJECTOR INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR


    1. Install 4 new injector vibration insulators onto the cylinder head.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER


    1. A0119LU

      Install the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers onto the cylinder head.

      Note

      Install the No. 1 delivery pipe spacers in the correct direction.

  3. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

      *1 O-Ring

      Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings, then install one onto each fuel injector assembly.

    2. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the contact surfaces of the fuel delivery pipe and the O-ring of the fuel injector assembly.

      While turning the fuel injector assembly left and right, install it onto the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Do not twist the O-ring.

      • After installing the fuel injectors, check that they turn smoothly. If not, replace the O-ring with a new one.

  4. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE


    1. Install the fuel delivery pipe with the 4 fuel injectors, and then temporarily install the 2 bolts.

      Note


      • Do not drop the fuel injectors when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      • Check that the fuel injector assemblies rotate smoothly after installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Tighten the 2 bolts to the specified torque.

      Torque:
      28 N*m  { 286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

  5. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Line up the pipe and connector and push them together until a "click" sound is heard.

      Note


      • Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects on the connecting part.

      • If the pipe is difficult to push into the connector, apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the tip of the pipe and reinsert it

      • After connecting, check that the pipe and connector are securely connected by pulling on them.

  6. INSTALL EFI FUEL PIPE CLAMP


    1. Install the EFI fuel pipe clamp.

  7. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Install the intake manifold Click here.

  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK


    1. Check fuel pump operation.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.

        Note

        Do not start the engine.

      3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump /Speed.

      4. Check for pressure in the fuel inlet tube from the fuel line. Check that sounds of fuel flowing from the fuel tank can be heard. If no sounds can be heard, check the integration relay, fuel pump, ECM and wiring connectors.

    2. Inspect for fuel leaks.


      1. Check for fuel leaks from the fuel system after doing any maintenance or repairs. If there is a fuel leak, repair or replace parts if necessary.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

    4. Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
