FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover edge.

      Note


      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      • Do not tap the oil seal at an angle.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT DAMPER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the key with the key groove of the crankshaft damper, and slide the crankshaft damper to the crankshaft.

      Using SST, secure the crankshaft damper.

    3. Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.

      Torque:
      210 N*m  { 2141 kgf*cm, 155 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

    1. Install the V-ribbed belt.

    2. Turn the V-ribbed belt tensioner counterclockwise and remove the 5 mm bi-hexagon wrench.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT (w/ Air Conditioning System)

    1. Temporarily install the No. 1 V belt onto each pulley.

      Note


      • Before installing the V belt, check each pulley for any liquid or chips.


      • Check that the ribs of the V belt are correctly fitted into the grooves of the pulleys.

  5. ADJUST NO. 1 V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT

    1. Turn the bolt B to adjust the tension of V-ribbed belt.

    2. Tighten bolt A.

      Torque:
      44 N*m  { 449 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE COVER (w/ No. 4 Engine Cover)

    1. Temporarily install the No. 4 engine cover with the 2 bolts and nut.

    2. Fully tighten the 2 bolts and nut in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ No. 1 Cooler Cover)

    1. Temporarily install the No. 1 cooler cover with the 2 nuts.

    2. Fully tighten the 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

  8. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  9. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    1. Install the No. 3 engine under cover with the 3 clips.

  10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
