ACCELERATOR PEDAL ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Enter the following menus: ECU Data Monitor / the No. 1 Accel sensor (VPA1) / the No. 2 Accel sensor (VPA2).

    4. Control the VVT System.

      Check the voltage while operating the accelerator pedal.

      Accelerator Position No. 1 Standard Voltage
      Condition Specified Condition
      Accelerator pedal is released 0.5 to 1.1 V
      Accelerator pedal is depressed 0.4 to 1.4 V
      Accelerator Position No. 2 Standard Voltage
      Condition Specified Condition
      Accelerator pedal is released 1.0 to 2.2 V
      Accelerator pedal is depressed 3.9 to 5.0 V

      If the result is not as specified, check the accelerator pedal, wire harness, and ECM.
